In the former US airbase in Clark, Angeles City, three local men were pinned to death by an overhead water tank — which came crashing down on them while they were sawing off its legs.

Local authorities said it will take time to identify the men because their bodies were badly disfigured by the weight of the water tank that pinned them to death. The three men were trying to pilfer the steel frame that supported the water tank when the incident happened.

Investigators believed the men intended to sell the steel frame to local junk shops. Pilferage is a persistent problem inside the former Clark Air Base.
